I wrote this song in the first few weeks of my first college semester at Liberty University. I was really wrestling with the reality of leaving behind relationships that I've developed (or didn't) throughout middle school and high school. I was restless for the first few weeks as I reminisced friendships, breakups, and quality family experiences. I'd have pretty wonderful, vivid dreams and did not want to wake up. However, It's great to know that I can find refuge in my God who is stronger and bigger than all my fears and struggles.
Enjoy!
lyrics
I don't know why I can't sleep
Seems like I'm waking from reality
I wish I could stay here in my dreams
and do just as I please
I'm better off or so it seems
Don't forget me
I can't forget you
Don't regret me
I cannot let you
Fade away
Chasing the sunset
As we fade to gray
So long, So long
It's what I always tell myself and
Farewell, goodbye Philadelphia
The time has come to sail into the dark
Unaware of who we are, who we are
Don't forget me
I can't forget you
Don't regret me
I cannot let you
Fade away
Chasing the sunset
As we fade to gray (*2)
